This Privacy Policy explains how the Better Me mobile application ("App") handles your personal data.

In this document, "we", "us" or "our" refers to the company above.

2. Scope, Project Context and General Information

This Privacy Policy applies to the Better Me mobile application available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.

The App is developed in connection with the project BE ME-IN DC — Better Myself in Dual Career, Project Reference: 101242467, funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Sport programme (ERASMUS-SPORT-2025-SSC).

The project information above is provided for general informational purposes only. The data handling practices of the App are described in this Privacy Policy.

We do not operate an online service or backend for Better Me. Data entered into the App is stored locally on your device and is not sent to our servers.

We do not collect, store, or process personal data on our own servers. Any personal data you enter in the App remains on your device under your control.

3. Data Stored in the App

The App allows you to store the following information locally on your device only:

  • Email address – used as your login identifier within the App.
  • Password / authentication credentials – used to protect access to your local account within the App.
  • Self-assessment responses – the answers you provide to the dual career competency questionnaire, kept locally so you can review your own results and track progress over time.

This information is not transmitted to us and is not collected by the developer on its own servers.

We do not collect or store the following data on our servers:

  • Real name (unless you choose to use it as part of your email address),
  • Location data,
  • Payment data,
  • Contact lists,
  • Usage analytics or tracking identifiers,
  • Advertising identifiers,
  • Any other personal data, except the email address, password / authentication credentials, and self-assessment responses you enter locally in the App.

4. Storage Location and Security

Your email address, password / authentication credentials, and questionnaire responses are stored locally on your device so that the App can recognize you when you log in and display your own progress. This data is not transmitted to us and is not stored by us on any external server, cloud service, or third-party system.

The App is designed to use storage mechanisms available on your device and operating system to support local account access and App functionality.

We do not have access to your credentials and cannot recover them for you.

We take reasonable steps in the App design to help protect data stored by the App on your device. However, the actual security of your data also depends on your device security (for example, screen lock, operating system updates, and other device-level protections). We recommend using a strong device password/PIN and not sharing your device with others.

5. Purposes and Legal Basis (GDPR)

Because the company is established in the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") applies.

For Better Me, we do not collect or store personal data on our servers. Any personal data used by the App (such as email address, password / authentication credentials, and your self-assessment responses) is stored and processed only on your device, under your control.

The purpose of processing on your device is to allow you to create and protect your local account, complete the dual career self-assessment, view your own results, and use the App's educational functionality. To the extent that this constitutes processing of personal data under the GDPR, the relevant legal basis would be Article 6(1)(b) GDPR – performance of a contract (providing the App's functionality that you choose to use).

6. No Data Transfer to Us or Third Parties

We do not send your data to our servers and do not share your personal data with any third parties for analytics, marketing, or any other purpose.

  • The App does not use third-party login providers (no Google, Apple, or social logins).
  • The App does not use third-party analytics SDKs or crash reporting tools that send your data outside the device.
  • We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or advertising.

The App displays educational content that links to external resources (for example, public web pages and videos). If you tap such a link, your device opens it in your browser; the linked website is operated by a third party and its own privacy practices apply.

The App also provides a way to contact dual career consultants by email. When you tap an email address, your device opens its own email application — the App itself does not send the message and does not store the contents.

Please note that your device's app store provider (Google or Apple) may process data according to its own privacy policies when you download, install, or update the App. This processing is independent of our App and is governed by the relevant provider's own privacy policy.

7. App Store Privacy Disclosures

In the Google Play Data safety section and the Apple App Store App Privacy section, Better Me may be described as not collecting personal data, because the login data and questionnaire responses used by the App remain on your device and are not transmitted to us or to third-party services by the App.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all data is stored locally on your device, your email address, password / authentication credentials, and questionnaire responses remain stored for as long as the App and your local account remain on your device. We do not keep any separate copy of this data on our systems.

How to Delete Your Data

To delete all data stored by Better Me on your device, you can:

  • Uninstall the App from your device; or
  • Go to your device settings (for example, Settings → Apps → Better Me → Storage → Clear data, wording may differ depending on your device/OS) to clear the App's data.

After these steps, the email address, password / authentication credentials, and questionnaire responses stored by the App on that device will be removed. Since we do not store your data on our servers, we cannot restore it after deletion.

9. Your Rights Under Data Protection Law

Under applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR, you may have the following rights:

  • Right of access (to know what personal data is processed and for what purpose),
  • Right to rectification (to correct inaccurate data),
  • Right to erasure,
  • Right to restriction of processing,
  • Right to data portability,
  • Right to object to certain types of processing, where applicable.

In practice, for Better Me, most of these rights are exercised directly by you on your device by changing your login details (where the App offers such options), or by uninstalling the App or clearing its data as described above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or where you believe a violation of data protection law has occurred.

10. Children's Privacy

Better Me is not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly target or collect data from children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has entered personal data in the App, you can remove this data by uninstalling the App or clearing its data on the child's device. You may also contact us at info@mobad.pl for general information.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the App or in applicable data protection laws. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always show the date of the latest version.

The updated Privacy Policy will apply once it is published on the official webpage for the App, included in a new version of the App, or otherwise made available through our official channels.
